Your Safety Is Our Priority

Passenger safety, comfort, and enjoyment guide every decision we make. We fly only when conditions are optimal, and we're always happy to reschedule if weather doesn't cooperate. Your flight is guaranteed until taken—no weather-related expiration dates.

Weather Requirements

Hot air balloon flights operate under FAA Visual Flight Rules (VFR), which means we need clear skies and calm conditions. We continuously monitor weather patterns and make flight decisions based on the following parameters:

< 9 mph

Surface Wind Speed

< 19 mph

Wind at 2,400 ft

3,000 ft+

Cloud Ceiling

Excellent

Visibility Required

Why We Need Multiple Wind Layers

To change direction during flight, your pilot maneuvers the balloon up and down to find winds traveling in different directions. That's why we need clear conditions at multiple altitudes—it gives us more options for steering your adventure!

Day of Flight

Here's what to expect when the big day arrives:
You'll complete a pre-flight instruction and policy acknowledgment form before takeoff.
Landing location is determined during flight based on wind conditions—part of the adventure!
Your pilot makes all decisions regarding flight safety and routing—they're focused entirely on your wellbeing.
The balloon lands at the same speed as the surface wind—typically a gentle touchdown.

Weather Delays? No Problem.

We always err on the side of safety. If weather doesn't cooperate on your scheduled date, we'll work with you to find the next available date that fits your schedule. Your adventure is worth waiting for!
